OK, so now you are onboard and have come to realize that the Doc&Do business management platform can help you run a much smoother, more efficient and more profitable business, but now overwhelm sets in and you get stuck again. The mere thought of documenting everything and collecting all the documents to upload gets you stuck in your tracks again.
It’s a very normal and natural feeling, but do not despair. It’s not as bad as that.
Our suggestion is that you just start one place – any place. Once you have uploaded one document, you might just get surprised just how easy and fast it is. I know I was myself, when I did it.
And now your document is there readily available for you to retrieve it even on the fly or for you do invite others to or what ever you need to do with it (even if it’s just to be able to throw out the physical paper version of it).
The first document I placed in on the Doc&Do platform was the EIN document of one of my new businesses. My bookkeeper who was setting up pay roll was requesting it and instead of me just sending it through via email, then I uploaded it to the Doc&Do business platform – took 2 seconds – and now it is there for all future interactions. Took me one more second to invite my bookkeeper to the document and now she can access it any time she wants, and I can invite anybody else who may need it later down the line. We all know just how often people will come back and ask you for the same material they did some time ago, right? Or just how often you yourself have to find a document even on your own computer, but now forgot where you placed it (our templates on the Doc&Do platform can help suggest to you a useable structure for organizing your business on Doc&Do in a sensible and efficient manner).
This is but a simple example of the use of safe keeping your documents on the platform. But although it’s simple then it’s one of those areas in which you will save insurmountable amounts of time in future. You’ve now done the work once and now you are ready to go. To give you a specific example, in the course of the first 3 or 4 months of the life of our company Pivot Point Enterprises, we had to retrieve the EIN number at least about 7 times – for whatever reason such as for taxes, payroll, for merchant accounts and bank accounts. And every time, we had to go search for it and retrieve it on my computer.
It may sound like this is an example of a simple issue and a simple problem and it is, but the thing of the matter is that this type of thing happens all the time on daily basis within all businesses that I know of and it’s is all these non-income-producing activities that heaps up and that robs dramatically from your time, productivity and thus ultimately from your profits.
Now when I for what ever reason need the document, I have it right there with me, via my smart phone. Two seconds exercise and I can get going again. No more: “I’ll send it to you when I’m back in the office” or “I’ll have my assistant forward it to you” etc.
Again this is just one minor benefit of using the Doc&Do platform. But to get back to the feeling of overwhelm and where to start getting your material onto the site, just start somewhere and soon you will see you have something going. Over time and as you work with something in your business you will just incorporate the use of the platform and it becomes a natural part of the process (and it only takes a few seconds and saves you many, many later on). Soon you will have everything there in the system and with you in your pocket.
